What We Believe

At SouthPointe, we believe the Bible is God's inspired Word and our guide for faith and daily living. We believe there is one God—Father, Son, and Holy Spirit—who created us, loves us, and desires a personal relationship with every person. Our mission is simple: to help people know Jesus, grow in their faith, and live out His love in the world.
We believe that Jesus Christ is the Son of God who lived a sinless life, died for our sins, and rose again so that all who place their faith in Him can experience forgiveness, hope, and eternal life. Salvation is a gift of God's grace, received through faith in Jesus—not earned by our own efforts.
We are a church committed to worship, prayer, biblical teaching, and authentic community. Whether you have followed Christ for years or are simply exploring faith, you'll find a place to belong, ask questions, and grow. We believe God is still transforming lives today, and we would be honored to walk that journey with you.
Our Team
Dr. Emmanuel LalFelkima
Lead Pastor
Dr. Emmanuel is passionate about teaching and preaching from the Scripture and discipling people. He is also actively involved in healthcare ministries and mission projects. He received his PhD from Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary, and his Master of Theology from Princeton Theological Seminary. He is married to Dr. Lalteii Hmar, and they are blessed with three beautiful children, Elianna, Emmenique, and Eliah. Pastor Emmanuel’s family are actively involved in the ministry.
Dr. Laltei Hmar
Women's Counseling
Laltei is the wife of our lead pastor Emmanuel. She has her doctorate in Pastoral counselling from Columbia Theological Seminary and provides free counselling for women through the church. She is passionate about helping others and is a good listener for anyone who is in need. Her experiences include teaching in institutions for higher education and counselling for abused women. She loves gardening and grow beautiful flowers and blesses people with them frequently.
Stacy Wise
Office & Financial Admin
Stacy has been on staff with SouthPointe since 2012. She grew up in a Christian home and came to know Jesus at a young age. Her family is originally from IL. She moved to Texas in 2008, and has been married to Rod since 1995 and they have 3 wonderful young adult children. Stacy enjoys working with numbers and works two jobs where she uses that skill. Stacy enjoys time with family and also enjoys playing music with her family and being a part of the Worship Team as well.
Rod Wise
Worship Director and Deacon
Rod has been on staff since June 2021. Originally from Southern IL. Rod moved to Texas in 2008. He married Stacy in 1995 . God has blessed them with 3 children who are now all in their 20's. He enjoys music and time with family, as well as playing and collecting guitars.
Tori Wise
Support Staff
Tori has been on staff since Dec 2019. She has been attending SouthPointe with her family since 2011. Born in Peoria, Illinois. Her family moved to DFW when she was 5 years old. Tori is currently pursuing her Bachelors in History at UTA.
Kris Christian
Children's Ministry Director
Kris was saved when she was 13 at Vacation Bible School. She started going to Bethel-SouthPointe since in 1982. Where she met her husband Troy as a senior in High School. They have been married for 43 years now, with 3 amazing children, as well as a son-in-law, daughter-in-law. Blessed with 3 awesome grandchildren. Kris has loved serving the Lord since she was a teenager, and loves seeing everyone learning and loving the Lord. Kris has worked for a trucking company for 38 years now.
Troy Christian
Deacon and Youth Coordinator
Troy was saved at 13 years old, and has been at Bethel/SouthPointe since he was 2 weeks old. The church was started in his Grandparents home with family and friends. He met his wife Kris and raised their kids, going to SouthPointe, and now bring their grandkids to SouthPointe as well.
Phillip Couch
Trustee
Phillip is married to his lovely wife, Michi, for 47 years, he is blessed with five children, 17 grandchildren, and one great-grandson. Originally from Cincinnati, Ohio, he has lived in Texas for 45 years and has been a faithful member of the church for 19 years. As the owner of Advanced Tech Industries Sales Agency, he is currently semi-retired. He enjoys spending time with family and friends, cooking, golfing, boating, and restoring automobiles. He has also dedicated 38 years of service to the Arlington Optimist Club, supporting youth sports, the Arlington Junior Olympics, and the Special Olympics.
Dr. Kevin Rossler
Trustee / Praise and Worship team/Media Team
Kevin and his wife have been attending the church with their two sons since 2017. Raised in West Texas in the Roman Catholic tradition, he came to faith in Christ in 2012 after reading the Bible for himself. He serves the church by helping manage the media and livestream ministries and continues to grow and learn in that role. In his free time, he enjoys golfing, boating, and taking on new do-it-yourself home improvement projects.
Justin Coburn
Trustee and Praise and Worship team/Media Team
Justin joined the church in the early 2000s when it was known as Bethel Baptist Church on Randol Mill and was home to Texas Christian Academy. He accepted Christ as his Savior at the age of nine. He and his wife, Elizabeth, will celebrate 15 years of marriage this November and are blessed with a 26-year-old daughter and a 13-year-old son. He enjoys serving as part of the Praise and Worship team, primarily operating the sound board, and faithfully assists the church in his role as a trustee.
Dr. Dominick Tuzzo
Deacon and Adult Sunday School Teacher
Joined SouthPointe after relocating to TX from CT in 2016. Came to faith in Jesus while serving in the military in 1981. Dominick has been married to his help meet Nelly for 35 years. He is a girl dad and a girl grand-dad. Never passes on an opportunity to share a laugh with others. Life verse: Joshua 1:9
